Karin Cagy, 1972.

Lives and works in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Through painting and embroidery, the artist seeks to debate the passage of time, ageism and women's place in the world, promoting a discussion about strength and delicacy, aesthetics and standardization. The female body has always been her object of debate, seeking to emphasize feminine power through the passage of time. At all times, her work revisits insubordination with touches of humor and refers us to her experience with fashion and freedom. The artist has explored drawing and painting on various surfaces. A parallel is being drawn between wrinkles and lace.
